Clouds rest is so called because clouds normally rest there because it is so freaking high. I must say lugging a 20kg backpack up to Clouds Rest was pretty tough. Here is a pic of the missus taking in the view of Half Dome on the left. She is relaxed. I am not going to mention that this was an easy day for her because she chickened out of climbing half dome the night before. 😛
So we are still in the mighty Yosemite National Park but we must journey south along the JMT. Next stop: Cathedral Lake.
We camped alongside the lake and it was beautiful. We even managed a ball shrinking swim.
Over the next few days we would make our way to thousand island lakes which was one of my most anticipated campsites. And it didn’t disappoint:
This was now day 4 and there were a few little blisters and aches starting to greet us each morning…
Next stop Duck Lake…
And this is when the wildfires started to get thick!
Thanks for reading 🙂
