Car Camping checklist

Clever shot my friend took using a torch and slow shutter or something (I have no idea about photography!)

This is a general list of stuff I always pack for car camping.

  1. Head torch and spare batteries
  2. Drinking water
  3. Fold up chairs
  4. Plates and bowls, cups, knives and forks etc.
  5. Cooking utensils – Normally a BBQ mate does the trick for cooking.
  6. Cast Iron fry pan – they are heavy but it makes everything so damn tasty
  7. Earplugs – these are a must for public campgrounds (in case of noisy neighbours, birds that unreasonably screech at the crack of dawn etc)
  8. Sleep mask (my girlfriend swears by these and they are light and take up little room)
  9. Matches/lighter
  10. Kindling
  11. Firewood
  12. Paper towels
  13. Tent!
  14. Air mattress + air compressor. Those little ones that plug into the cigarette lighter are awesome. Don’t waste time with a manual pump.
  15. Pillow.
  16. Sleeping Bags/Doona – I take the doona straight off our bed – why skimp on comfort.
  17. Sunscreen
  18. Insect repellent
  19. Wine, beer, whiskey
  20. Surfboard, fishing rods.
  21. A positive attitude 🙂
